I have been swimming regularly all of my life.  I spent most of my childhood at the pool.  At the age of 14, I started to swim competitively.

At 16 I got my swim instructor, lifeguard and Aqua-fitness certification.  My lifeguarding days ended at 28, I still continue to teach stroke improvement, Aquafit classes and many other water exercise programs.

I no longer swim competitively but I still have a very intimate connection with the water.  It is my daily form of exercise.  I also use it for pain relief.  I have degenerative disc disease and any soreness in my back virtually goes away after my swim.
